Review of Some Items

Thanks for the review. I am surprised about the bridesmaid dress. It is one of my least favorite. I hope to go to AGPC soon, so I will have to check it out. With AG, you can be really surprised by how things look in person. Usually the surprise is a pleasant one, but not always.

Hmmm...I'm surprised about the bridesmaid dress. I might have to order it....and I really hate it by the pictures.

I had the lawn party dress, and thought it was cute. The hat isn't quite accurate, though...but close.

DD had the tea party dress when she was little. It was very pretty. She still has the sailor dress...and it is wonderful.

I bought myself the talent show dress. That is , to me, the most accurate dress for Sam. I bought the lawn party shoes to go with it. I'm going to use off white stockings...for some reason I have a few pairs of Sam's. I am going to dress DD's Sam in it after Christmas. Of course...I'm still hoping for Nellie for Christmas. If I get her, I'm going to order the play dress. DD has hers from the early 90's, and I will dress Nellie and Sam to match.

DD told me yesterday that DH did not get me Nellie. But she had a twinkle in her eye...so I don't know. Christmas is the only time of year that we all turn into big, fat, LIARS in this family! LOL!!!!! [img]biggrin.gif[/img]

I'm sorry you didn't like the rest of the items, Kim. But thanks for sharing the info.

could it be that your daughter isn't lieing...that DH didn't get her for you, but maybe SHE saved and got her for you?

Besides, aren't you getting the horsey thing-a-ma-jig?

Again, I usually do not post reviews of products, but I was very surprised by some of our latest acquistions.

Samantha's Bridesmaid Dress: I was very surprised with this dress. I really disliked it in the pictures and only got it because I thought it might retire. I was very surprised when it came in. It is beautiful. Very well made and the color is much better in person than shown in the catalogue or on the Internet pictures. The pictures made it look too frilly, but it isn't.

Samantha's Bridesmaid Accessories: My daughter loves this, but I was disappointed in it. It is larger than I thought it would be, but it is all plastic. If it had not come out of an AG box, I would have thought it was an oversized Barbie accessory. It think the item is cute, but to me, the cake looks very cheaply made.

Samantha's Lawn Party Dress: I really liked this dress in the pictures, but in person it is really rather ugly to me. The color is drab and the design boring. The hat is weird in that it has a bowl-shaped insert to keep it on the doll's head. Unfortunately, the insert isn't the same shape as the hat and it makes the hat look wrong on the doll. It might be a historically accurate dress & hat, but I was not impressed for the cost.

Both of Sam's dresses that you mentioned are the only one's we don't have. I can't stand both of them but may purchase them for Kaitlin. Again, I am a completist. I also think she will relate to the movie and every little girl dreams of being in a wedding.

Hmmm...interesting. I'm sure I'll end up with the bridesmaids things too because Diana likes them, and I've always thought the lawn party was kind of dull. I know its appropriate for the times, but her clothes are too white. For that reason, I've never been interested in her Tea dress either.

I got the Talent show dress for her and her play dress that I might use for Nellie. Also got the buster brown school dress because I found a girl sized dress for Diana on ebay earlier in the month. It'll make for great pictures!

Even though it;s white again, I do love the summer sailing dress though, so that'll come before this summer, alongwith Kirsten's summer dress too.

Hey Laurie....no, DD didn't get her for me. She bought part of my present when I was with her, and she has everything else for me wrapped, and under the tree. Our kids buy us a lot of presents at Christmas time. We try to talk them out of it, but they really enjoy doing it.

DH might not have gotten her for me...which is fine. The kids have told me that he has something really special for me, and that I will most likely cry when I open it....but that it's not Nellie. But then they say other things that make me wonder what the heck is going on! I wouldn't cry over Nellie, and they know it. So there is something else that DH has up his sleeve.

I did get the round bale feeder for my horses! LOL!!!!! They are using it right now! He picked it up the other day, and was joking about it being my present. [img]biggrin.gif[/img] What a silly guy....

I am on the verge of giving DH one of his presents today! I got him some boots for sub-zero temps, and he could use them this morning! Brrrrr....it's not going to get above zero today.
